FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
PTA Reflections Art Program asks young artists to ponder “Wow”
August 18, 2008 (Hudson, Ohio): The Hudson PTA announces its annual
Reflections Art Program, where students in grades Pre-K through 12 are
invited to submit their artistic creations. The 2008-2009 school year
theme is: “Wow!” Students are encouraged to express what “Wow” means to
them artistically in one or more of the following areas: literature,
musical composition, photography, two-dimensional visual arts, dance,
and film production. Participation in the Reflections Program is
organized by grade level, and student works are critiqued against others
in the same grade division.
Entries will be accepted from October 1
through October 31, and may be dropped off at designated collection
boxes located in all school offices. Additional information, including
entry forms and rules, will be sent home with students, and can also be
downloaded from Hudson PTA's website at:
www.hudson-pta.org.
Reflections
Art Program is a creative arts program of the National PTA.
In its more than 30-year history, the PTA’s
Reflections Program has encouraged millions of students across the
nation to explore their artistic talents.
The
Reflections Art Show will be held at The Hudson Library and Historical
Society during the month of November. During this time, the entries
will be judged by a local panel of experts in each of the six
categories.
All
children will be recognized for their efforts with a reception in the
spring. However, those entries honored with first place ribbons at the
local level will be forwarded to the state level in Columbus to compete
among other local winners. Those with top honors at the state level will
compete on the national level in the spring of 2009.
