May 2009 Summer Enrichment Scholarship Winners
On
Tuesday, May 19th, the Hudson PTA hosted the 12th annual Summer
Enrichment Scholarship Awards Ceremony. Each year the PTA provides
Summer Enrichment Scholarships for Kindergarten – 7th grade students who
have shown notable improvement in any or all school-related areas. This
scholarship provides assistance towards tuition for a summer enrichment
course or camp, chosen by the recipient, to enable that student to
further progress and have fun through involvement in a summer enrichment
activity.
“We're very proud to sponsor this great program each year. We’ve awarded
sixteen $150.00 scholarships to students in Kindergarten through 7th
grade for use towards the summer camp of their choice,” said Liz Dawson,
PTA President. “The Hudson PTA asks teachers to nominate students they
feel have made significant progress throughout the year with hard work,
sheer determination, and an effort they feel deserves recognition. The
selection committee had a difficult time choosing the final recipients.
There were so many deserving nominees; we just wish we could recognize
all of them. Special thanks to the teachers for their support of these
students and partnering with us on this wonderful program. We are happy
to have this opportunity to honor these students for their remarkable
achievements.”
